What is holiday home rental? Kiwi Home Rentals offers a variety of fully-furnished houses, flats and apartments available for short or medium term rental. Usually we only accept bookings for a stay of at least two days. All are fully equipped to meet the needs of tourists, families, groups of travellers, skiers, conventioneers or business people who prefer staying in a comfortable home rather than a motel or hotel. Typically we rent homes for periods of between a week and a year to single parties of 2-6 individuals. Many of our guests are tourists who have based themselves in Christchurch for an extended South Island holiday and many more are families transferring to new jobs and homes in the city. Holiday home rental is an ideal way to find a comfortable hassle-free place to live while waiting for house packs to arrive from overseas or while looking for a new home in Christchurch. And yes, we welcome small, well behaved pets by prior arrangement. We have had many people stay in our houses with pets - in particular show dogs and cats. Our properties are securely fenced and have garages for pet crates/kennels, etc. We do ask that pets stay out of the house though.
All homes are provided with full kitchens (appliances, utensils, cookware etc) comfortable beds (all linen provided) laundry facilities, roomy lounges (furniture, TVs, DVD/CD players) and dining areas equipped to meet family needs. Why choose home rental - why not a motel, hotel or B&B? Home rentals are quieter and cosier than a large, impersonal motel or hotel chain and they offer more privacy and flexibility than Bed & Breakfast accommodation. In a home of ours you're the only guest and there's no noisy neighbours in a room next door. You don't have to worry about what time you get up or come in and you're free to entertain family and friends if you wish. Enclosed private gardens or courtyards and barbeque areas are ideal for families with small children and for entertaining guests. Small children (and their parents) benefit from having secure spaces to play and amuse themselves without disturbing other adults. Try doing that in a motel unit! What about the cost? Not only can you expect home rental tariffs to be cheaper than the equivalent hotel or motel accommodation, but families can also save a lot more on food, entertainment and incidental costs (laundry, telephones, off-street parking, pet-care etc). Eating out every night is expensive and not always practical for young children. Having all the facilities of a fully equipped kitchen for your own use is convenient as well as economical. The price is the same for any number of guests up to the maximum set for each house. Can we help you during your stay?
